Over this past year, Dirah has lit a spark of community. Now it’s time to fuel the flames and make the fire roar in 2022.

Dirah is a home for Jewish life, learning and community. Since our inception just under a year ago, we have touched the lives of hundreds of local community members and provided a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds to experience the joys of Judaism.

Here is some of what we've been up to:

High Holidays - Over 100 people joined our explanatory Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services and Tashlich meditation!

Sukkah Bike - Our roving Sukkah on wheels gave everyone an opportunity to celebrate. 

Fridays at the Canal - A fun musical program at the Gaowanus waterfront for young families to celebrate Shabbat.

Monthly Shabbat at Dirah - Once a month we open our doors for a beautiful Shabbat experience with song, prayers and a delicious home-cooked Shabbat dinner.

Hebrew to You - An innovative Hebrew School alternative that brings small groups of children together in their homes to experience the beauty of Jewish traditions.

Torah Study and Classes - We offer a range of study opportunities, from private study sessions to weekly classes and high-level courses.

Chanukah at Carroll Park - The first-ever community Menorah lighting and Chanukah celebration at Carroll Park brought over 250 people together to celebrate.
