According to tradition, the Jews showed up late to Sinai! On the most important day of our history we slept in! Because of this, it has become a custom on Shavuot to stay up all night and study Torah.

Join Rabbi Menashe for a thought-provoking conversation on one of Judaism’s most radical ideas: Lo Bashamayim Hi — “It is not in Heaven.” Once the Torah was given at Sinai, the responsibility to interperet it shifted into our hands and Judaism is shaped through human debate and interpretation. What does it mean that G-d asks us to become partners in shaping the Jewish story? Can we know what He wants better than He does?
